FM Sections

Welcome to Facilities Management (FM)

Facilities Management is driving a revised strategic business model to focus on delivering client-focussed services, environmental sustainability development initiatives and the provision of business services.

FM coordinates the planning, development, construction, management and maintenance of contemporary and heritage listed buildings and landscape within world-class grounds.

Building and Business Services

Associate Director Gillian Swindells

Business Services provides a range of business services and expertise to Facilities Management and the wider University inculding:

  • Financial budget and accounting management and reporting
  • Information and records management
  • Planning and strategic management
  • Capital project expenditure planning
  • Contract Administration
  • Tender Administration
  • Project Administration
  • Website management and maintenance
  • Staffing workforce planning and change management
  • Systems maintenance and training
  • Procedural  development and purchasing
  • Contractor Training, Induction and Standards management

 Building Services key role and purpose is supporting the University clients with a range of professional  services inculding:

  • Monitoring, planning, budgeting and reporting corrective and preventatiive maintenance and life cycle renewal of facilities and infrastructure
  • Executing minor works and maintenance by delivering building trades skils and consulting advice
  • Maintenance and Cabinet workshops

Built Environment

Associate Director Helen Whitbread

Built Environment manages the environmental sustainable development of UWA operations, landscape and transport.

  • Planning and services for a sustainable campus
  • Cleaning and disposal services
  • Centrally maintain and operate building management systems (e.g. air conditioning, emergency warning, fire)
  • Transport Planning and Urban Design
  • Landscape planning and design
  • Landscape and external sporting facility maintenance
  • Playing a primary role in the scoping and feasibility phase
  • Supporting executive in aligning project requests with the University's mission and OPP
  • Preparing business cases and funding applications for capital projects
  • Directing and managing the capital project delivery process

 

Security & Parking

Manager, Garry Jones

Security and Parking provides security and parking services to persons, property and surrounds for UWA.

  • Provide security and parking services
  • Manage security to property and surrounds
  • Administer parking infringements and permits
  • Responds to emergencies
  • Enforce the Lands By-Laws
