Preamble

Funding for the Cleaning Services section covers contractors' salaries, waste disposal, consumable items, cleaning equipment and administration costs for on and off-campus cleaning. The budget allocation for cleaning expenditure is based upon the cost of cleaning per square metre.

Policy

When purchasing stock for the Cleaning Services section:

• purchase in bulk to reduce cost
• ensure consumables are non-toxic and bio-degradable
• purchase energy-efficient electrical equipment
• purchase from vendors who supply competitive recycled products
• use products with a high recyclable content
• follow Procurement Policy guidelines
