Chemical Analysis of Water and Maintenance of Cooling Towers

Policy

The Central Plant of Facilities Management is responsible for monitoring the water quality in cooling towers, boilers and equipment cooling systems.

Senior Technicians
  1. Inspect cooling towers in Central Plant daily for water quality.
  2. Monitor chemical dosing, bleed rate and inspect filters.
  3. Analyse samples of water taken from 7 cooling towers in Central Plant two or three times each week.
Specialist chemical contractors

Conducts chemical analysis and cleaning of all cooling towers on campus at three monthly intervals.

Senior Technicians

Discuss results of specialist firm analysis and decide course of action.
