Co-mingled Recycling

Preamble

Recycling on the University campus commenced in 1988 and has now been incorporated in University Environmental Policy.

Initially focussing upon a limited range of paper products, recycling now extends to most paper and cardboard products as well as tin, aluminium and aerosol cans, glass (soda), plastics and drink cartons and other products will be included as this becomes practicable.

Policy

University Environmental Policy emphasises waste reduction and Cleaning Services are developing recycling systems which support waste reduction.

Recycling programmes are regularly examined to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
