Emergency Cleaning

Preamble

Emergency cleaning may be provided to departments by Cleaning Services when departmental staff are not able to carry out these duties e.g. where flooding occurs or a rapid cleaning response is required.Included in this category are special emergency cleans through the week, emergency ground cleans over the weekend and trauma cleaning where specialised cleaning is carried out by fully trained cleaning contractors.

 

Policy

Departments are responsible for small incidental cleaning requirements during the day. However, if cleaning expertise or special cleaning equipment is required, departments may contact Cleaning Services.

 

Procedures

Cleaning staff are available between 5.00 am and 1.00 pm Monday to Friday and Cleaning contractors outside these hours.

  • On weekends only contacts nominated contractors to clean sensitive campus ground areas.(Those areas used extensively by visitors or weekend functions.)

  • Contacts nominated trauma cleaning contractors  where specialised cleaning is required.
