Advises Building Operations at least 24 hours in advance if possible, that it will be necessary to isolate fire alarm.

NB: It is particularly important that schools advise Central Plant if a fire alarm is to be isolated out of normal working hours.

Senior Technician

  • Isolates fire alarm on site at the time required and checks fire alarm panel on completion of work.
  • Informs Security Office if zone is in alarm/fault mode, and returns zone to normal if it is not in alarm mode.
  • If the alarm is to be isolated out of hours, the Senior Technician on call will isolate the alarm when required and also return to reinstate the fire alarm again when the isolation period has expired.
  • Attends evacuation tests with Safety Officer.
  • Attends all emergency fire alarms to assist the Fire Brigade with the operation of the fire panel and location of services.
