Hot Spots Air Conditioning

Policy

The University allocates funds on an annual basis to retro-fit air-conditioning. In general, areas in line with the following priorities could be considered for funding:

• Accommodation is located on the top floor of a building.
• Accommodation is located on the east or west side of a building and has insufficient protection from the summer sun.
• Accommodation is occupied on a regular basis during the hot summer months.
• Accommodation is provided for many people, for example an administrative area visited by a large number of students.
• Accommodation permanently houses a number of heat producing machines in addition to permanent staff.

Faculties should present their request via the Hot Spots Programme Funding Application and indicate the level of faculty funding which may be contributed.
