Waste Removal by Cleaners

Policy

Cleaners will remove only that material left in recycling or general waste bins and boxes/material CLEARLY labelled as rubbish and to be removed. Cleaners cannot be responsible for any paperwork or material inadvertently placed in a recycling or general waste bin.

The Cleaners will not remove or touch any waste designated chemical, radioactive or hazardous material. This type of waste is clearly the responsibility of the School, who have their own procedures for correct removal and disposal.

  • Remove general day-to-day waste and recycling material placed in designated bins.
  • Remove other waste clearly labelled as rubbish.

Schools
  • Place general and recycling material in correct bins.
  • Clearly label any other waste to be removed.
  • Responsible for the removal of all chemical, radioactive, confidential, biological and special waste from their area.
