Plastics recycling

Only plastic beverage bottles can be recycled in your desk side recycle bin. All other plastics can easily be recycled but must be recycled seperately.

For collection of bulk plastics contact the Waste Management Officer.

Offices are setting up their own seperate plastics recycle bins in kitchens or common use areas. If you would like a bin to set up as a plastics disposal point contact the Waste Management Officer.

What types of plastic can be recycled?

Everything and anything plastic! Some examples of plastics to recycle on campus (but not limited to this list) include: 

• Packaging
• Computer casings (metal free)
• Plant pots
• Pallet strap
• Test tubes and containers
• Plastic bags
• Bubble wrap
• Pallet/shrink wrap
• Bottles & containers (domestic, industrial, chemical)
• Plastic food containers (clean)
• Piping (any type)
• Cable reels
• Corflute
• Plastic offcuts
• Shadecloth
• Crates
• Data tapes
• Drums
